paint this town

i live in a tiny little town, right on main street. the big advantage of that being that i can walk to pretty much anything i want (including a tattoo shop which i have yet to go to). and what could make that more complete than our very own small town graf! i saw a few tags by CURD along main street, this one being by the post office. there is just something so...freeing about writing your (fake) name or pasting/sticking something on a piece of public property. though simple looking, mr/ms CURD has inspired me to get some some of my shit going on in this here town too, diversify from the urban locales i usually stick to when vandalizing. paint this town HOOS! (<--- super cheesy, right? haha)

well not really "who" since i know who he is, but it sounded good. and just try saying that name three times fast. if you want more info on mr. frelinghuysen go here though the word "republican" is kind of enough info for me.

i scream for ice cream!

i love this ice cream...uh truck...bus... thing. though i have never actually purchased a frozen treat from the Hola Ice Cream bus (i need to rectify that), it has lit up my life none-the-less for the last 3 years. every night during the hot summer months, the ice cream bus came by my old apartment to hawk its tasty wares to the clamboring dirty children who populated my old neighborhood. you gotta love that kind of reliabilty. makes you smile, you know? and since i live only a mile away now, i still get to see it from time to time, though not every night. but even better than that, and perhaps this is why i love it so much, among its random musical ditties that it plays, one of my favorite things about it is that it plays christmas music. yep. certified christmas in july shit...only its not being cutesy or schticky...its really just randomly playing off season holiday music, and how can you not love that? really?

i vandalize, therefore i am

i love to stencil things and i love spray paint and stickers; the 3 things just seem to go so perfectly together. i also love pictures of vandalism (or in this case, future vandalism). i was asked to make these for a friend in philadelphia and was happy to oblige. i made about 20 of them and plan to make more...though i'm not sure where i put the stencil due to my recent move. i'll either find it or cut a new one. be on the lookout for these badboys (and HOOS stickers too!)

not a bad place to be

corner of sip avenue and jones street, jersey city, friday 6/4/2010. the art gallery i curate, 32 Jones, is a few hundred feet away from this corner. and 99cent pizza, where you can get a slice of mildy decent pizza and a can of grape soda for two bucks, is just across the way from this corner. not a bad place to be.

take this feeling back to where it came from

i took this some time last year, and if memory serves me correctly, i wasn't going for melancholy, but looking at it now, thats what it looks like to me. therefore, this is my emo geekshot self-portrait post of the day. haha.
